Mais que uma cidade portuária

Cerca de 65 km depois de Chiriquí Grande, viajando de David, ou 30 km depois de Changuinola, viajando da fronteira com a Costa Rica, fica ALMIRANTE, uma cidade portuária de casas enferrujadas, algumas construídas em palafitas sobre as águas calmas da Baía do Almirante.

Located on the shore of the bay, with friendly population, near the capital of the province and the road that links Bocas del Toro and Chiriqui provinces, and from there with the rest of Panama and Central America, as main advantages, Almirante is well known as the export terminal for the regional banana industry and the place to catch a boat, if you're heading out to the islands of the Archipelago of Bocas del Toro.

A cidade de Almirante é povoada principalmente por afro-caribenhos com ancestrais nas ilhas do Caribe (Jamaica, San Andrés, Martinica, etc.) e pessoas originárias Ngabe.
